Fish exports worth DKK 5.3 billion in first half of 2022

The fish export value increased by DKK 1.3 billion in the first half of 2022 compared to the first half of 2021

The total export value for the first half (H1) of 2022 was DKK 5.6 billion, an increase of DKK 1.4 billion on H1 2021.

Mackerel exports saw a huge 251% increase in H1 this year. This is due to last year’s mackerel quota being reached later than usual.

The export value of salmon increased by DKK 565 million (28%). This reflects good prices as the export volume has dropped by 16%.

The export value of bottom fish species has also increased – by 71% for haddock, 58% for cod and 38% for mature coalfish.

Exports to Russia amounted to DKK 45.2 million in June 2022. This total was made up of DKK 32.9 million of fuel and other supplies sold to Russian ships and DKK 12.3 million of blue whiting exported to Russia.
