Founded on 6 May 1946, the Culture Foundation serves to develop and preserve the Faroese language, literature, art, science and other cultural fields for professionals and amateurs alike.

The Culture Foundation places special emphasis on events and projects which inspire prosperity in Faroese visual arts, music, literature, drama and other comparable arts.
