Deaths

Deaths figures cover residents listed in the national register.

Glossary:

  • Death rate (also called mortality rate) is the number of deaths per 1,000 residents.
  • Age specific death rate is the death rate per 1,000 residents in a specific age group.
  • The ‘per 1,000 unit’ is used to account for differences in population, sex distribution, etc. This makes it possible to compare periods with e.g. different populations.
