Household statistics feature data about household types and composition – e.g. one or more adults, with or without children, and the age and sex of household members.

Household types can be spouse, cohabitant, child, single, not related to other family members, etc. Household size is the number of persons in a household.

Population censuses provide a snapshot of society on a given day.
