Fish exports increase by DKK 450 million

Fish exports totalled DKK 9.8 billion in the first ten months of this year, an increase of DKK 450 million over the same period last year.

Total exports for the first ten months of 2023 amounted to DKK 10.5 billion, an increase of DKK 320 million over the first ten months of 2022.

The highest export value growth was registered in the ‘mink feed’ and ‘other fish species’ categories. ‘Other fish species’ includes products made from all fish species not mentioned in the table below. Most products in this category are fish meal, fish oil and the like. 

The export value of salmon dropped by DKK 239 million (5.3%). The salmon export volume went down by 7,990 tonnes (13.3%). Salmon prices have been good, and there is still some growth in the average annual price.

Exports of demersal fish species cod, saithe and haddock dropped by DKK 254 million in total (18%, 9% and 23%, respectively). Price trends are falling for all key species (except salmon).

Exports to Russia in October 2023 amounted to DKK 67.9 million, of which DKK 64.3 million was mackerel.
