Fish exports down by DKK 367 million

Total exports from November 2023 to October 2024 amounted to DKK 12.4 billion – down DKK 370 million on the previous 12-month period.

The tables below show export figures in the November 2023 - October 2024 period compared with the previous 12-month period.

Fish exports fell by DKK 367 million (3%). Exports of many fish species, including salmon, cod and herring, increased, while exports of other fish species decreased. Exports in non-fish categories generally remained steady year-on-year.

Salmon exports increased by DKK 618 million in the past year, reaching a total of more than DKK 6 billion from November 2023 to October 2024. Salmon exports increased by 11.4% in value and 21.7% in volume.

The table below shows fish exports by region. The biggest decrease was in exports to non-EU countries in Europe. Exports to EU nations are unchanged at DKK 5.6 billion. Exports to North America fell by DKK 123 million, while exports to Asia rose by DKK 103 million (14.2%).

Exports to the EU and the US have increased significantly in recent years. Exports to the EU have doubled since 2021. Monthly exports to the US have increased from between DKK 50 million to DKK 100 million in the 2014-2021 period to between DKK 100 million and DKK 200 million.
