Imports at an all-time high

Total imports in the first 8 months of this year amounted to DKK 8.3 billion.

The DKK 8.3 billion total import value from January to August 2022 is a 43% increase on the same period in 2021, which was the previous record. Excluding imports of ships and aircraft, this increase stands at 27%.

The recent oil price hikes are clearly reflected in the import figures. Although the import volume went down by about 7% year-on-year, we spent 90% more on fuel.

Excluding fuel and ships from these figures, the biggest increase in import value was in raw materials for fish production (mostly cod and mackerel), which went up by DKK 165 million

There was also a significant increase in the import value of raw materials for aqua- and agriculture (mostly feeding stuff for use in aquaculture), which increased by 30%.
