Last year’s import value unchanged from 2019
At roughly DKK 8.1 billion, the total import value for 2020 was about the same as in 2019, and 5% higher than in 2018. Since 2014, imports have seen annual increases of between 2% and 10%, but this growth has now come to a halt.
Imports of goods classified as goods for household consumption increased by 11% in 2020. Imports of durable and semi-durable consumer goods such as furniture and domestic appliances saw the biggest increase.
Imports of raw materials for fish processing, goods for the construction industry and other production have also increased.
The 2020 total import volume of fuels saw a year-on-year increase of 10%, while the total import value in this category decreased by more than DKK 300 million (25%).
Imports of ships went down 18%, while machinery and other capital equipment imports decreased by 6%.
