The most popular baby names in 2019
The most popular names for girls born in 2019 were Lea and Vón.
Many of the names on the 2019 list did not feature on the 2001 list. These are Vón, Mia, Eva, Liva, Olivia, Aura and Ró.
In addition to the 79 girls’ names featured three times or more on the 2019 list, 33 names featured twice and 198 were unique for last year.
The most popular names for boys born in 2019 were Jónas and Óðin.
Jónas was also a popular name back in 2001, but Óðin did not feature on the 2001. Nor did Baldur, Jósef, Bragi, Milan, Elian, Mika or Nóa.
In addition to the 102 boys’ names featured three or more times on the 2019 list, 64 names featured twice and 173 were unique for last year.
