Exports down by one third in April
Total exports of goods in April 2020 went down by a third compared with April 2019
Fish exports saw a 30% decrease in April 2020 compared with April last year. Exports of salmon, mackerel and herring were particularly hard hit.
Export figures vary greatly from one month to another, which is why the figures should be viewed with reservations when making month-by-month comparisons. There is, however, no doubt that the international COVID-19 measures have had an effect on Faroese fish exports.
